Trey Barnes

Hailing from the backwoods of North Carolina Trey started his athletic life once he hit a growth spurt….or three.  After basketball had run its course Trey began the sport of running from a dare and a free trip to the beach. After that first ½ marathon he fell in love with running and has since pushed his limits in mileage and time completing over 60 ultra-marathons including the Leadman Challenge.  Crossfit has been a huge part of his training to stay injury free throughout all his mountain adventures.  He loved it so much he decided to become a coach too!  Since moving to Aspen in 2014 Trey also co-founded the Aspen Trailheads, a local running group that has multiple runs and adventures each week for all abilities. Adding skiing to his tool belt after he moved to Aspen you can always find Trey on the mountain in some way shape or form all year round.
